P I E T E R   SPAANDER  born 12 January 1886 in Midwoud (Oostwoud), died 8 May 1962 in
Castricum.  He was a cattle farmer and an agriculturalist in 't Veldhuis in Oostwoud,  President of the Coöp Graanmalerij, Treasurer of the Dairy Factory and Committee member of the 'Boerenleenbank'.
     In Venhuizen on 25 April 1913 he wed
     
VOKELTJE RUITER  born 24 October 1889 in Venhuizen, died 25 January 1985.  She was the daughter of Jan RUITER and Marijtje BAKKER

  MARIJTJE born 22 September 1921 in Midwoud (Oostwoud), died 27 February 1977 in Bloemendaal




J A N  SPAANDER  born 6 December 1914 in Midwoud (Oostwoud), died 20 May 1988 in Amsterdam.  He was a Doctor of Medicine and became known for his work in the field of blood transfusion. He was also the Director of the Central Laboratory of the Red Cross in Amsterdam. On 1 October 1950 he was
appointed Director of the Government Institute for Public Health in Utrecht of which he subsequently
became Director-General. He was an active member of the World Health Organisation in Geneve, was the President of  M.E.R. (milieu) for 6 years and held many other positions such as President of the
international C.I.S.V (Kinderpostzegels) and was rewarded for all his services with an honour-doctorate of the 'Rijks Universiteit' of Amsterdam. He was awarded many distinctions for his organic- and scientific work, among others: 'Officier in de Orde van Oranje Nassau met de Zwaarden', 'Commandeur Oranje Nassau', 'Ridder Nederlandse  Leeuw',  'Groot Officier Leopold II', 'Commandeur Kroonorde van Belgie',  'Bundesverdienst Kreutz Deutsche Bundes Republiek', 'Kruis van Verdiensten  Nederlandse Rode Kruis'

     In Smallingerland on 20 February 1941 he wed
     
CORNELIA MAGDALENA CARSJENS  born 24 December 1913 in Oudega, died 25 February 1944 in Amsterdam.
     In Amsterdam on 3 June 1946, after Cornelia passed away, Jan wed
     
CORNELIA CATHARINA MARIA SPAANDER  born 30 July 1916 in Amsterdam, died 17 January 1999. Candidate for a degree in Old Languages and a gifted musician.  She was the daughter of Melgert SPAANDER and Maria Alida FRANCKEN.

She now lives in the south of  France.    Children :  Mathieu, Sylvain and Mikaël.
Maria and George separated in 1991
MELGERT  born 14 May 1949 in Amsterdam. Owns a beautiful old shop premise in Zutphen and is a well known restorer of old clocks.  He is entrusted with the maintenance of all the clocks in the royal
palaces of The Netherlands.
