P I E T E R   SPAANDER  born 19 February 1907 in Amsterdam, died 28 June 1991.  He was a chemist in Sneek and attained a doctorate in Pharmacy. On 26 June 1941 in Amsterdam he graduated with his thesis on 'Zwemwater in Nederland'. He became an Inspector of Public Health and a member of the Public Health Council in Eindhoven. He was the first President of the International Association for
Radiation Research and in 1971 became an 'Officier in de Orde van Oranje Nassau'.

     On 17 May 1933 in Naarden he wed
        MARIA SUZANNA KOK  born 24 February 1908 in Amsterdam, died 3 May 2003.  She was the daughter of Jacobus Hermanus KOK and Maria Suzanna DIEPERING.
