J A N   SPAANDER  born 19 August 1871 in Volendam, died 22 March 1950 in Volendam. He was a blacksmith and had a forgery in the grounds of the slip yard of his brother Piet.  After the installation of a gas main in the town he became chief gas fitter with the gas company in Volendam. Several times he was Verger in the Reformed Church in Volendam (see note 1-22 on page 113) and was awarded the silver medal of the 'Orde van Oranje Nassau'.
     On 26 March 1893 in Edam he wed
       
NEELTJE COBELENS  born 27 March 1875 in Edam, died 28 March 1935 in Volendam.  She had a little corn-chandlers shop on the dike on the Zuidersea side. The houses on that side were built on stilts because of the eb and flow. At the time the dike broke in 1916 and Volendam was inudated, Neeltje rolled up the carpet in the livingroom of her house, opened a hatch in the floor and caught the ducks which were swimming there! They soon were prepared for sale. She was the daughter of
Cornelis COBELENS and  Aaltje UITENTHUIS.

JAN  born 25 July 1894 in Volendam, died 2 April 1940. He was an architect with the Road and
Waterworks and lived in Buiksloot.

PIETERTJE GOEDMAAT  born 14 December 1893 in Kwadijk, died 24 May 1939 in Volendam.  She was the daughter of Michiel GOEDMAAT and Hilletje UITENTHUIS.
AALTJE  born 12 December 1895 in Volendam, died 1 January 1969.

TEUNIS CORNELIS HAASNOOT  born 16 April 1895 in Katwijk aan Zee, died 15 April 1969. He had a fish business in Volendam and was the son of Cornelis HAASNOOT and Teunisje GUYT.
Children: 18-09-1924 Cornelis, 02-08-1926 Neeltje, 04-07-1929 Jan, 27-05-1932 Anton lived in
Sweden, died 13 December 1993 and 09-06-1936 Tini lived in England.

ELISABETH  born 23 March 1901 in Volendam, died 10 February 1975.
     On 24 May 1923 she wed
       
BERNARDUS VISSER  born 26 July 1901 in Monnickendam.  He managed the post office and the post office savings bank in Volendam and in this position knew of the considerable balance in the
passbook of Cornelia Schokker (page 59), which she had inherited from her father. He, together with the other Spaanders, were of the opinion that Cornelia would make a good catch for their younger brother Pieter !   Bernardus lived next to the 'Hotel Spaander'. When Alida, the owner, passed away he
managed the hotel for a brief period before Mr P J Van Der Woerd was appointed manager. He studied the history of the Reformed Church in Volendam, in which many Spaanders held positions on church
committees. He was the son of Elbert VISSER and Cornelia STA VAN UITER.

04-06-1929 Elbert and  08-09-1933 Bernardus.

C O R N E L I S   SPAANDER  born 17 May 1898 in Volendam. He departed for Sweden and died there in Falun on 8 August 1959.  He was a director of the gas works in Falun.

RAGNHILD ANDREA KAROLINA LUNDELL born 16 November 1899 in Östersund,  died
27 October 1993 in Järpen, Sweden. She was the daughter of Anders LUNDELL  born 16 November 1864 and Helga Brigitta Amanda EDLUND born 19 October 1870.
