C L A E S  SPAENDER  baptized 2 April 1623 in Wormer. He was a trader in scraps  (shavings, chips of wood, peat, etc.) used for smoking eel and other fish (the Dutch word 'spaander' translates to the
English word 'chip' ). He was a magistrate in Wormer.  After 1651 he was called 'Old Claes' to keep him apart from Claes the son of 'Young  Jan', who was called 'Young Claes'.

WILLEM  born 29 July 1646, baptized 5 August 1646 in Wormer, died October 1682(83).
GUERTJE (GUYRTJE)  born 5 April 1649, baptized 18 April 1649 in Wormer.
     In 1671 she wed
       
JAN STIJFSELMAKER, who was her uncle, the brother of her mother. He was Lord  Mayor of Wormer.
    Children: baptized 17-01-1672 Gerrit, 20-08-1673 Anna, 15-02-1675 Duijfje (Duyfje), 27-06-1677 Claas (Claes), 18-06-1679 Lijsbeth, 12-12-1681 Willem, 29-09-1683 Lijsbeth, 12-11-1684  Jacob, 18-11-1685 Willem, 24-08-1687 Willem, 26-12-1689 Jacob and 23-12-1691 Dirck.
All children born and baptized in Wormer.
LIJSBETH  baptized 24 (31) December 1651 in Wormer.
LIJSBETH  baptized 25 December 1653 in Wormer.
LIJSBETH  baptized 6 August 1655 in Wormer.
JAN  baptized 14 April 1658 in Wormer.  Jan was magistrate in Wormer.
      On 29 January 1684 in Wormer he wed
       
TRIJN PIETERSD  died in Wormer in October 1707. In a deed dated 11 November 1700  it states  "Old Trijn Pieters, widow of Jan Claes Spaender, rusk maker in Wormer."
